Originally conceived as a pandeiro solo to explore certain extended techniques for the instrument, it quickly took on an accompanying tabla part and has largely been performed as a duo for pandeiro and tabla. Although a trio arrangement with the inclusion of berimbau was a mainstay for Hands On’Semble for many years.
